• WiMedia UWB radios offer super-high data rates, well beyond what is required by the highest fidelity multi-channel audio systems. WiMedia UWB radios can easily deliver data rates of 100 Mbps, which is more than enough for 7.1 channel surround sound. THX Roomcaster uses this extra available bandwidth to ensure signal integrity while delivering audiophile-quality sound.

• Unlike traditional surround-sound systems, which entail a hodge-podge of speaker wires and analog components, THX Roomcaster transmits the audio signal digitally. This means that instead of converting audio content to analog format and amplifying it inside an A/V receiver, both the digital-to-analog conversion and the amplification occur inside the speaker. This dramatically reduces the length of the wire between the amplifier and speaker cone, eliminating speaker-wire parasitic elements and greatly improving signal quality.
